About the Role
Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a Military Derivatives Test Pilot to join its team at Boeing Field in Seattle, WA. This role is within the Military Transport division of Boeing Flight Operations, focusing on the development and flight testing of military derivatives of Boeing commercial aircraft for global military customers. The position involves testing aircraft with diverse military-specific systems, including communications, surveillance, self-defense, aerial refueling, cargo and airdrop capabilities, and weapons delivery.
Responsibilities

Plan and conduct ground, flight, and maintenance test flights for experimental, prototype, new production, and modified production aircraft.

Evaluate aircraft system functionality, performance, structural integrity, and certification.

Contribute to technical reports, flight manuals, and flight reports.

Analyze flight data, including system performance and aircraft handling, and recommend design changes based on operational considerations.

Participate in marketing, evaluation, and demonstration activities for customers.
Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent non-US qualifications.

Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.

Military flight test experience in transport category airplanes.

Possession of a Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements.

Current FAA Class II medical certificate or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of military flight test experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Graduate of a military test pilot school.

Military flight test experience in KC-46, P-8, or similar aircraft.

Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).

Prior aerial refueling qualification and/or aerial refueling certification test experience.

Type ratings in Boeing commercial model aircraft.

Experience with aircraft certification processes and procedures, including FAA and DOD requirements.

Ability to assess type design data for compliance demonstration.
