EMB-120 Pilot in Command (PIC)
Job Summary
Berry Aviation is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated EMB-120 Pilot in Command (PIC) to spearhead on-demand cargo flights that require a two-pilot crew. The Captain assumes direct leadership and responsibility for the Second in Command (SIC) assigned to each flight, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all flight operations. This pivotal role is central to Berry Aviation's commitment to excellence in air cargo logistics.
Compensation
A competitive annual compensation package is offered, ranging from $120,000 to $190,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates EMB-120 aircraft in strict accordance with all company procedures, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, and industry best practices.
- Exercises direct command and oversight over the Second in Command (SIC) for all assigned flight segments.
- Monitors and assists in the secure loading of cargo and support equipment, ensuring airworthiness and full compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
- Prepares accurate Weight and Balance documentation, adhering meticulously to established company protocols.
- Receives and interprets local weather information and Air Traffic Control (ATC) clearances, preparing the cockpit in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintains on-call readiness during assigned periods, demonstrating the ability to arrive at the assigned aircraft within 30 minutes of notification.
- Successfully completes all mandated initial and recurrent company training and testing as directed by the training department.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support operational requirements and company objectives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Holds an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument privileges.
- Possesses a minimum of 1500 hours of total flight time in airplanes.
- Accrued at least 500 hours of multi-engine flight time in airplanes.
- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
- Holds a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a current and valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RR).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Requires relocation to within 30 minutes of the assigned domicile.
- Possesses the ability to travel away from domicile for extended periods of time.
- Holds a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of an FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- A minimum of 3000 hours of total flight time in airplanes.
- At least 1000 hours of multi-engine flight time in airplanes.
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in confined aircraft spaces.
- Capable of manipulating, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects in excess of 150 lbs.
- Must be able to reach and stretch across objects, and twist within confined spaces.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, including both cold and heat.
- Capable of performing duties at altitudes higher than sea level.
