Salary Range: $163,032 – $248,400 annually (Salary determination is based on the applicant's function, education, experience, and qualifications.)

Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a highly qualified Corporate Pilot to operate company aircraft, serving as either Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC). This role provides safe, dependable, and flexible air transportation for executive management. The Pilot is responsible for assisting with detailed pre-flight planning, ensuring crewmember compliance, assessing safety conditions, and providing passenger services. The objective is to ensure executive travel requirements are met with the highest standards of security, efficiency, and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive checks of weather, all applicable Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), determine aircraft weight and balance, and calculate appropriate fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements.
  • Exercise final decision-making authority regarding the safe operation of an aircraft. Consult with other departments as needed to resolve maintenance irregularities, address passenger service issues, and optimize operational planning.
  • Perform thorough aircraft pre-flight inspections before each departure.
  • Lead pre-flight planning activities and conduct pre-flight briefings for operational pilots. Verify that assigned aircraft crewmembers possess valid licenses, medical certificates, passports, and visas when required.
  • Ensure a compliant Part 91 passenger briefing is conducted for all individuals onboard prior to flight.
  • Assume absolute authority concerning the safe operation of the aircraft and direct other crewmembers during aircraft movement to ensure adherence to customs, immigration, and security regulations.
  • Operate the aircraft in strict accordance with operator procedures and aircraft limitations to ensure the safe transport of key executives, their families, authorized employees, and physical assets.
  • Oversee the appropriate provision of passenger services during trips, including arranging in-flight catering while away from home base and confirming itinerary times for the next scheduled departure with the lead passenger.
  • Complete all post-flight duties accurately and promptly. This includes conducting post-flight briefings, finalizing all post-flight documentation and record keeping, clearing and restocking the cabin and galley areas, notifying maintenance of any aircraft defects, and informing the Bechtel Aviation Operations (BAO) team of any deviation from the planned itinerary or overnight location.
  • Remain in command of other crewmembers until the end of the assignment duty period or until command is formally relinquished.
  • Hold full responsibility and serve as the final authority for the safe operation of the airplane.
  • Direct the activities of all crewmembers in a manner that promotes maximum safety, responsibility, and operational effectiveness.
  • May operate as Second-in-Command on designated trip sequences.

Qualifications:

  • Licenses and Certificates:
    • Possession of a current 1st Class FAA Medical Certificate.
    • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with Instrument and Airplane Multi-Engine Land ratings.
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Flight Experience Minimums:
    • A minimum of 2,500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
    • A minimum of 1,500 hours of multi-engine time.
    • A minimum of 1,000 hours of turbine-powered time.
    • A minimum of 500 hours PIC in multi-engine turbine powered aircraft.
  • Required Knowledge and Skills:
    • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and appropriate sections of the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM).
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven experience in effectively interacting with executive management, government officials, and service center representatives.
    • Ability and willingness to work irregular hours and travel for extended periods as required.
