Position Summary:

AutoZone’s First Officer is responsible for assisting the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) with duties in both flying and non-flying roles. The First Officer is tasked with staying current with federal and local flight regulations, preparing and operating the aircraft, providing customer service to passengers, and being an active participant in the department Safety Management System (SMS). The First Officer will strive to provide safe, secure, efficient and flexible travel to all customers while ensuring safety, customer service and operational excellence will be the driving force behind all corporate aviation endeavors.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the company aircraft in a safe and efficient manner per established company policies and procedures while abiding by all federal and local guidelines and by the manufacturers recommended configurations.
  • Complete all flight planning duties as established in the company including ensuring required documents have been prepared, filed, and all regulatory requirements have been met prior to departure as assigned.
  • Complete aircraft preflight responsibilities per standards.
  • Ensure that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight.
  • Responsible for ensuring all catering is coordinated in a timely fashion to correspond with flight requirements.
  • Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) by identifying, reporting, and assisting in mitigations of safety related issues.
  • Provide timely input on safety related topics and apply appropriate checklists while making decisions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while assisting with passenger needs when they are aboard the company aircraft.
  • Maintain a culture of safety with effective procedures that support customer service.
  • Perform requested tasks outside of flight assignments and assigned flight duties.
  • Complete all required Company, Departmental, Regulatory, and Aircraft specific training at the specified intervals.
  • Perform duties as Pilot Flying and Pilot not Flying, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation
  • FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Airplane License
  • Minimum 1,000 hours of total flight time
  • Ability to pass FAA Class 1 physical examination
  • 100 hours jet experience preferred and 2 years of Corporate flying experience preferred
  • EFIS (Electronic Flight Information System) and FMS (Flight Management System) knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to operate with high attention to detail and organization skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal, human relations and communication skills
  • Ability to be within a one-hour drive of Memphis International airport (MEM) for on-call rotation.
  • Ability to adhere to drug-free workplace policy
