Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air are seeking highly motivated individuals to join the Ascend Pilot Academy, a comprehensive flight training program designed to cultivate future commercial pilots. This program offers aspiring pilots with limited or no prior flying experience the opportunity to undergo intensive training and build essential flight experience, ultimately leading to a First Officer position with Horizon Air.

Hillsboro Aero Academy in Hillsboro & Redmond, Oregon
Approximately 3 to 3.5 years
The program offers financial support, including $27,000 towards a commercial pilot certificate and up to $3,500 to cover the CFII (Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument Certificate).
Upon completion of all training, certificate, and flight experience requirements, students commit to a minimum of three years of service as a pilot for Horizon Air.
Successful completion of the Ascend Pilot Academy provides an opportunity to advance to a First Officer position with Alaska Airlines through the Pilot Pathways program, contingent upon meeting eligibility requirements.
Entry into the program requires agreement to ongoing release of training records, disciplinary records, attendance records, and any other records containing necessary and relevant information for the program to Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines.
