Pilot Training Program Director

Alaska Airlines seeks a highly accomplished and strategic Pilot Training Program Director to lead and innovate all aspects of flight operations training. Reporting to the Managing Director, this pivotal role demands a seasoned aviation professional with extensive experience in program management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning within the airline industry. The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert, driving the long-term vision for pilot training programs across multiple fleet types, ensuring alignment with FAA regulations and Alaska Airlines' operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of all Flight Operations Training initiatives, encompassing project assessment, strategy development, and performance management.
- Design and implement innovative, long-term training projects to significantly enhance pilot training programs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term strategy for worldwide training operations, navigating complex FAA guidance and addressing the unique requirements of diverse fleet types and operational divisions.
- Oversee the development of efficient transition strategies between fleet training programs, accounting for varying fleet types and operational nuances.
- Provide regulatory guidance and oversight to Boeing AQP and Airbus N&O training departments.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and process owners to formulate and execute long-range strategic plans supporting key training initiatives and AQP across all fleets.
- Leverage expert knowledge in training and strategic planning to develop a unique, competitive advantage for Alaska Airlines' training programs, ensuring adherence to performance objectives.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives, ensuring engagement from all relevant stakeholders and employing Safety Risk Analysis sessions for comprehensive planning and risk evaluation.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Alaska and Horizon training and operational division partners.
- Collaborate with the financial, planning, and analysis team to manage divisional budgets, conduct variance reviews, and perform economic analysis for capital and expense project needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ten years of experience in pilot training and program management.
- Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including financial analysis and budget management.
- 1500 hours as Captain and Check Pilot in 121 operations.
- Proven ability to influence cross-departmental collaboration on company-wide strategies.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
- Deep understanding of FAA guidance and its practical application.
- Experience in facilitating meetings and developing compelling presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated change management skills and the ability to challenge the status quo.
Preferred:
- 121 pilot management experience.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $147,400 - $228,400 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
