Position Summary

Airshare is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Managed Gulfstream GIV Captain (Pilot in Command) to join its distinguished team in Carlsbad, CA. The Managed GIV Captain will be instrumental in all facets of complex and dynamic aircraft operations, ensuring the safe and efficient air transportation of aircraft owners. This role demands a professional demeanor, exceptional airmanship, and a proactive approach to operational excellence. The Captain will represent Airshare with integrity and contribute innovative solutions to meet the company's evolving business demands safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot in Command for all assigned Gulfstream GIV flights, adhering strictly to FAA regulations, company policies, and best aviation practices.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and passenger comfort throughout all flight operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow crew members and ground support teams to ensure seamless mission execution.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, NOTAM review, flight plan filing, and accurate weight and balance calculations.
  • Maintain meticulous flight logs and complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Represent Airshare professionally to aircraft owners, clients, and all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Candidates for the Managed Gulfstream GIV Captain position must possess the following qualifications:

  • A four-year degree or equivalent professional experience is required, complemented by a minimum of 4,000 flight hours, including 500 hours as Second-in-Command (SIC) in jet aircraft.
  • Demonstrated recent corporate aviation flying experience is essential.
  • Possession of a current First Class Medical Certificate.
  • An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is mandatory.
  • Candidates must meet all currency requirements for instrument flight time and night landings, and successfully pass an instrument competency check in the assigned aircraft category.
  • A current and valid Gulfstream GIV type rating is strongly preferred.
  • The successful candidate must reside within a one-hour commute of the assigned base in Carlsbad, CA (CRQ).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs (approx. 23 kg) is required.
