Aero Air is the parent company of Erickson Aero Tanker (EAT), which conducts year-round firefighting operations. USFS MAP (Mandatory Assignment Period) dates may vary annually based on allocations and fire conditions.
Aero Air seeks experienced Aerial Firefighting Tanker Pilots in Command to join its team. The position requires operation of the MD-87 aircraft as Pilot in Command.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pilot in Command of MD-87 aircraft during aerial firefighting operations.
- Adhere to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and procedures.
- Safely conduct low-level flight operations as required for aerial firefighting missions.
- Maintain reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot or Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating (Multiengine Land).
- Current First or Second-Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 4,000 hours Total Flight Time.
- Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot in Command (airplane).
- Minimum 200 hours multiengine Pilot in Command.
- Minimum 100 hours multiengine Pilot in Command in aircraft greater than 12,500 lbs.
- Minimum 200 hours low level flight time (typical terrain).
- Minimum 100 hours Pilot in Command in the preceding 12 months.
- Heavy jet type rating.
- Previous or current USFS Aerial Supervision Module (AKP) or Air Tanker (AKI) rating.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid U.S./state issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Valid U.S. Passport.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with willingness to travel extensively.
- Successful completion and favorable results of pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current USFS Initial Attack rating.
- DC-9 type rating.
