Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), a division of Textron Systems, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fighter Pilot to join their team in support of tactical flight training and adversary services for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force. This role is based primarily at Cherry Point, North Carolina, with potential deployments to various locations, including Beaufort, South Carolina.

About ATAC

ATAC provides comprehensive tactical flight training and Aggressor/Red Air services across multiple sites. The organization delivers high-quality live training to 4th and 5th generation aircrews, supporting unit-level continuation training, pre-deployment preparations, large force employment exercises, and aircrew conversion programs. ATAC is a pioneer in supporting advanced aircraft platforms, including the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Lightning II.

Responsibilities

The Fighter Pilot will operate the Dassault Mirage F-1 aircraft in support of various training missions. Primary duties include:

  • Executing flights in support of 4th and 5th Generation Fighter operational and conversion syllabus training missions.
  • Providing air support for surface fleet pre-deployment and large force employment training.
  • Operating aircraft within their full flight envelope as an adversary, Red Air, or close air support pilot.
  • Maintaining FAA instrument currency, a First Class medical certificate, and all required adversary mission qualifications.
  • Participating in pre-flight and post-flight briefings, as well as mission planning.
  • Ensuring adherence to all training regulations and maneuvering restrictions.
  • Contributing to lessons-learned collection and dissemination.
  • Completing necessary ground training.
  • Deploying as required to fulfill mission demands.

Collateral Assignments (Opportunities for additional responsibility and leadership)

  • Director of Operations (Cherry Point): Oversees all flight operations within the designated area, providing customer interface, and coordinating with local authorities, while managing the site’s maintenance manager.
  • Deputy Director of Operations (Cherry Point): Assists the Director of Operations in managing flight operations, scheduling, detachment planning, and oversight of aircraft maintenance and resources.
  • Maintenance Liaison (Beaufort): Coordinates aircraft maintenance activities in support of customer requirements, reporting to the Vice President of ATAC ACE.
  • Standardization and Evaluations Officer: Manages all pilot-related standards, evaluations, and scheduling for both ground and airborne activities, ensuring mission proficiency.
  • Training Officer: Oversees pilot training programs, syllabi, and scheduling, ensuring adequate training materials, process improvements, and pilot qualification tracking.
  • Flight Safety Manager: Manages the site's Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring all flight operations adhere to published standards and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previously qualified DoD-trained Fighter Pilot.
  • Previously qualified 4-Ship/Division Flight Lead.
  • Minimum of 700 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in a fixed-wing, DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft.
  • 100 hours PIC at night.
  • 100 hours PIC within the past 12 months.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • FAA Single Engine, Commercial Certificate with Instrument Privileges.
  • US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance.

Specific Contract Qualifications

  • 1000 hours PIC of a military tactical aircraft.
  • 500 hours PIC of a fixed-wing, DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft.

Desired Qualifications

  • USAF WIC graduate, USAF adversary qualification.
  • USNFWS/NAWDC/TOPGUN graduate.
  • Test Pilot School (TPS) graduate.
  • DoD military Instructor Pilot qualification.
  • Mission Commander qualification.
  • Military or Civilian Flight Examiner qualification.
  • Functional Check Flight Pilot qualification.
  • NVG Instructor, CRM Instructor.
  • FAA CFI(I) Certificate.
  • Familiarity with the DoD Commercial Air Services industry.
  • FAA Authorized Experimental Aircraft (AEA) privileges.
  • DoD Safety School or Board President Course graduate.
  • Squadron Command experience.
  • Active fighter flying (provide total hours and date of last sortie per fighter type).
  • Actively flying (provide a 1-year look-back per active aircraft type).
