CareFlight of the Rockies Pilot Position

CareFlight of the Rockies seeks a highly skilled and experienced pilot to join its team in Grand Junction, Colorado. This vibrant community offers a unique blend of outdoor recreation opportunities within the stunning Rocky Mountains and a thriving local economy.

Position Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

An Associate's degree (or equivalent) and two to five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
A minimum weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be under 70 years of age. This is a requirement for flight crew members.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, hospitals, and the public, while maintaining a professional and courteous working environment.
Recent flight experience: The candidate must have flown within the past 24 months in the applicable aircraft category.

Flight Hour Minimums:

Candidates must meet the following minimum flight hour requirements:

CareFlight of the Rockies Minimums:

2500 total flight hours (3000 preferred)
1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
200 hours of night flight time
100 hours of actual instrument flight time (500 hours and 1000 hours total instrument time preferred)

Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Program:

2500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2000 hours in category
1000 hours PIC in category
500 hours cross-country flight time
100 hours of night flight time
100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in the specified aircraft category

Licenses and Certifications:

Candidates must hold the following certifications and licenses:

Instrument rating (for the category and class of aircraft; an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating in the category fulfills this requirement).
Fixed-wing multi-engine rating (required for twin-engine aircraft).
FAA Commercial Single Engine Land certificate.
First-class or second-class FAA medical certificate.
