Taquan Air, based in the scenic town of Ketchikan, Alaska, is seeking passionate and experienced pilots to join their team for the upcoming season, running from May 1st to September 30th, 2024. This is a unique opportunity to pilot iconic DeHavilland Beavers and Turbine Otters, operating exclusively on straight floats, amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Alaskan wilderness.
Pilots will play a crucial role in connecting communities by transporting freight and mail to various destinations near Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island. The summer season brings the added excitement of providing unforgettable flightseeing tours to the awe-inspiring Misty Fjords National Monument and its surrounding areas.

- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to manage cargo loading and unloading.
Minimum Requirements for Pilots:
- Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single-engine Sea Rating
- 500 hours total time
- 100 hours cross-country time, including 25 hours night cross-country time
- Instrument Rating or ATP (per FAR 135.243)
- 200 hours minimum float time (experience levels will be considered)
Preferred Qualifications:
- History of instructing seaplane applicants
Chief Pilot Opportunity:
Taquan Air is also seeking an experienced and dedicated Chief Pilot to lead their team.
In addition to the above requirements, the ideal Chief Pilot candidate will have:
- 3 years of experience flying under FAR Part 121 or 135 within the last 6 years (per FAR 119.71).
- Proven leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a strong safety culture.
- The ability to effectively manage and mentor a team of pilots, leading by example and ensuring adherence to Taquan Air's unwavering commitment to safety.
