Air Methods is seeking a skilled Fixed Wing Pilot for its LifeFlight operations in Pensacola, Florida. This role involves operating PC12 aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and ensuring the safe transport of medical crews and patients.
About the Role
The Fixed Wing Pilot will be responsible for the safe and legal operation of Air Methods aircraft, including pre-flight inspections and ensuring aircraft airworthiness. This position holds final authority regarding aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment. The pilot will also be responsible for detailed flight planning, maintaining familiarity with aircraft and medical systems, and completing all required documentation. This is a regular full-time position with scheduled attendance requirements.
Requirements

Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.

Completes pre-flight inspections to verify aircraft airworthiness.

Holds final authority for aircraft operations and safety.

Maintains thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems.

Responsible for the completion of required documentation.

Conducts detailed flight planning with minimal notice.

Participates in company meetings, activities, and community outreach.

Maintains a weight not exceeding 250 pounds.

Must be less than seventy (70) years old.

Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.

Maintains positive interpersonal relationships.

Regular scheduled attendance (7/7 schedule - 12 hour shifts).
Qualifications

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and two to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Program Requirements:

2500 total flight hours
-
Minimum of 2000 flight hours in category
-
1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in category
-
500 hours of cross-country flight time, with at least 50 hours at night

500 hours of turbine time

100 hours night flight time
-
100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in category

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category meets this requirement.

Fixed wing multiengine rating is required for twin-engine aircraft.

Commercial single-engine land is required for single-engine aircraft.

First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate is required.
