CareFlight of the Rockies (CFOR), an Air Methods company, is seeking a Fixed Wing Pilot for its operations in Grand Junction, Colorado. This role involves operating PC12 aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and ensuring the safe transport of medical personnel and patients.
About the Role
The Fixed Wing Pilot is responsible for the safe and legal operation of Air Methods aircraft, ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are suitable for flight. This position plays a critical role in providing air medical transport services, adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and company policies and procedures. The pilot will conduct detailed flight planning, pre-flight checks, and ensure familiarity with aircraft and medical systems.

Operates aircraft in a safe and legal manner.

Holds final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Must be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems.

Responsible for completion of required documentation.

Able to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice.

Participates in meetings, activities, and community outreach.

Maintains a weight not exceeding 250 pounds.

Must be less than seventy (70) years old.

Pilots must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.

Maintains positive interpersonal relationships.
Qualifications

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and two to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Dual qualification required in the BE200 and PC12.

2500 hours of flight time, with 3000 hours preferred.

1000 hours Pilot In Command (PIC).

200 hours of night flight time.

100 hours of actual instrument flight time and 500 hours of instrument time preferred.

For IFR Program: 2500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2000 flight hours in category, 1000 hours PIC in category, 500 hours of cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night), 500 hours of turbine time, and 100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in category.

Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category meets this requirement.

Fixed wing multiengine rating required for twin-engine aircraft.

Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft.

First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
