The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking an experienced Airplane Pilot to operate multi-engine turbine aircraft, including the Pilatus PC-24, in support of critical power grid missions across the Pacific Northwest. About the Role
As an Airplane Pilot with BPA Aircraft Services, individuals will serve as either Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC) operating commuter-category turbine aircraft. The primary responsibility involves safely transporting BPA leadership, engineers, and essential personnel throughout the Pacific Northwest, other U.S. regions, and internationally into Canada. The role requires exercising flight authority, managing operational risks by evaluating weather and aircraft systems, and making critical safety decisions. Advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration is essential, utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles. Pilots will also collaborate closely with aircraft maintenance teams, providing detailed operational write-ups and participating in functional check flights.

Must abide by Selective Service registration requirements (for males).

Must be able to report in person to the official duty location.

Position requires an initial drug test prior to appointment and is subject to random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.

May be subject to periodic physical examinations if exposed to health hazards.

A preliminary background check must be completed before employment begins.
Qualifications

Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating.

Minimum flight hour requirements:

1,500 total flight hours.

100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.

250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command.

500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 multi-engine airplane hours in aircraft with a maximum gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.

75 flight hours of instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual IMC (Instrument Meteorological Conditions).

75 flight hours of night time.

Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.

Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".

Must provide a copy of current ATP, medical certificate, and sufficient documentation (e.g., logbook copy) to verify all stated requirements.
