The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) seeks an experienced Airplane Pilot to join its Aircraft Services organization in the Pacific Northwest. This role involves flying multi-engine turbine aircraft, such as the Pilatus PC-24, to support critical power grid missions across the region.
About the Role
The Airplane Pilot will operate multi-engine turbine aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and Second-in-Command (SIC). Responsibilities include transporting BPA leadership, engineers, and essential personnel safely throughout the Pacific Northwest, other U.S. regions, and internationally into Canada. The pilot will exercise flight authority, manage operational risk by evaluating conditions for mission continuation, and actively participate in advanced multi-crew cockpit collaboration using Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles. Collaboration with aircraft maintenance teams for fleet reliability and airworthiness is also a key duty, including providing operational write-ups and participating in functional check flights.

Subject to an initial drug test prior to appointment and random drug or drug and alcohol testing thereafter.

Qualifications

Possession of a current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a Multi-Engine Land class rating is required.

Minimum flight hour requirements include:

1,500 total flight hours.

100 flight hours within the last twelve (12) months.

250 airplane flight hours as Pilot-in-Command.

500 flight hours multi-engine airplane, with at least 250 hours in multi-engine aircraft with a max gross weight greater than 12,500 pounds.

75 flight hours of instrument flight time, including at least 10 hours of actual IMC.

75 flight hours of Night time.

Must hold or be able to attain, within one year of hire, a type rating in a Pilatus PC-24.

Must possess and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Pilot Certificate must state "English Proficient".

Proof of meeting flight hour requirements (e.g., copy of Log Book) must be provided.

Military flight experience must be supported by official orders, forms, or logbooks.
