Second in Command Pilot

This position requires a skilled and safety-conscious individual to serve as Second in Command, working under the direction of the Captain or aircraft Commander, and if applicable, the First Officer. The Second in Command is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft in all situations, both normal and non-normal.

Key Responsibilities:

The Second in Command will provide continuous support and assistance to the Captain to ensure safe and efficient flight operations. They will represent the airline as a brand ambassador, maintaining high standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance while on duty. The role encompasses a duty of care for the welfare of both crew and passengers. The Second in Command will support the commander in overseeing proper fueling, baggage and cargo loading, and aircraft servicing. Furthermore, they must ensure that their duties are carried out in accordance with the established procedures detailed in the flydubai Operations Manuals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Must hold a 1st Class Medical certificate issued by an ICAO-recognized authority.
  • Possession of a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) and Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) for Frozen Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) holders.
  • GCAA Air-law exam certification (for Foreign license holders).
  • English Language Proficiency (ELP) level 4 or above.
  • Proof of completion of Military Service before joining (preferred) or Proof of exemption.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 225 hours of flying time is required for applicants between 20 and 34 years of age.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours of flying time is required for applicants between 35 and 50 years of age.

Information Security Responsibilities:

The Second in Command must read and adhere to the company's Information Security Regulations (ISR) policies. They are responsible for reporting any weaknesses or incidents to their Line Manager or the Information Security team. Participation in mandatory ISR awareness sessions and adherence to associated guidelines is expected in daily operations.
