First Officer

The First Officer serves as second in command of the aircraft, providing essential support to the Captain during all routine and emergency situations. Their primary responsibility is to uphold the highest standards of safety in all flight operations. Furthermore, the First Officer acts as a brand ambassador for flydubai, consistently projecting a professional image and promoting the company's values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the safe and efficient daily operation of the aircraft in their role as second in command.
  • Sets a professional example for all flydubai crew members, contributing to a positive corporate image.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all company policies and procedures by all crew members.
  • Reports any breaches of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or safety incidents to the company or the GCAA through the appropriate channels to promote continuous improvement in flight safety.
  • Maintains personal fitness for flight duties and promptly informs the company of any condition that may affect their fitness to fly.
  • Operates the aircraft in accordance with all approved policies and procedures established by flydubai and the GCAA.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Possession of an ICAO ATPL certificate with a valid type rating.
  • Possession of a 1st Class Medical certificate from ICAO.
  • Proficiency in English to ICAO level 4 or above.
  • Eligibility for a UAE residency visa.
  • Must have active flight experience within the last 24 months.

Experience:

  • Endorsement on B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) aircraft type within the last 24 months.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours of total flying time.
  • A minimum of 500 hours of flying time on B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) type aircraft.

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ATPL subjects.
  • Excellent Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
  • Proven command ability and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of performance under pressure.

Information Security Requirements (ISR):

The First Officer reads and complies with all Information Security policies of the Company and diligently reports any vulnerabilities or incidents to their respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. The First Officer completes all required ISR awareness sessions and adheres to associated guidelines in their daily business operations.
