Job Summary
The Senior Captain (Pilot) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of company aircraft within a Part 91 corporate flight environment. Serving as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), the Senior Captain holds final authority over assigned flights and acts as a primary representative of the company to passengers. This role demands exceptional communication skills, technical expertise, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
Key Responsibilities
Flight Operations & Safety

Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) with final authority for aircraft operation and passenger safety.

Plan and execute flights in compliance with FAA regulations, company SOPs, and international standards.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including routing, fuel optimization, weather analysis, and alternate planning.

Evaluate operational conditions to make informed decisions regarding flight delays, rerouting, or cancellations.

Maintain situational awareness and exercise sound judgment throughout all phases of flight.
Aircraft Readiness & Compliance

Ensure aircraft airworthiness, maintenance status, and full readiness for every flight.

Conduct and oversee rigorous preflight inspections.

Maintain strict compliance with FARs, NOTAMs, and operational limitations, including weight and balance requirements.

Ensure all flight documentation and administrative paperwork are accurate and complete.
Crew Environment & Passenger Service

Work effectively within a Co-Captain environment, promoting Crew Resource Management (CRM).

Mentor and support crew development and training requirements.

Deliver exceptional customer service, coordinating passenger requests such as transportation, catering, and baggage handling.

Ensure all passenger safety briefings are delivered and maintain high standards for cabin cleanliness and comfort.
Operational Support

Assist with aircraft towing, fueling, cleaning, and general hangar upkeep.

Maintain internal and external hangar facilities.

Participate in recurrent company training and support Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation preferred.
-
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate required.
-
Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating required.

Type rating in Citation XLS+ (CE560XL) preferred.

Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
-
Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally without restriction.
Experience & Knowledge

Minimum of 10 years of flight experience.
-
Minimum of 4,000 total flight hours, including 2,000 hours multi-engine and 500 hours turbine.

Minimum of 1 year of experience serving as a safety officer or equivalent.

Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Expertise in aircraft systems, meteorology, and flight operations.

Proven ability to meet all currency and proficiency requirements regarding instrument flight time and night landings.

Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work a flexible, on-call schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight trips.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with executive-level clientele.

Must reside within a commutable distance (within one hour) of Le Mars, IA.
