Position Summary
The Senior Captain (Pilot) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of company aircraft within a Part 91 corporate flight environment. Serving as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), the successful candidate exercises final authority over assigned flights and acts as a primary representative of the company. This role demands technical expertise, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
Key Responsibilities
Flight Operations & Safety

Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) with final authority for aircraft operation and passenger safety.

Execute flight planning, including routing, fuel optimization, weather analysis, and alternate planning in compliance with FAA regulations and company SOPs.

Evaluate flight conditions and make decisive operational adjustments, including delays or rerouting.

Maintain peak situational awareness and safety standards throughout all phases of flight.
Aircraft Readiness & Compliance

Ensure aircraft airworthiness and oversee comprehensive preflight inspections.

Maintain strict compliance with FARs, NOTAMs, weight and balance limitations, and documentation requirements.
Crew Environment & Passenger Experience

Promote effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) and support crew development through mentorship.

Deliver exceptional service to passengers, including coordinating catering, transportation, and safety briefings.

Ensure cabin readiness and maintenance of high comfort standards.
Operational Support

Assist with aircraft fueling, towing, cleaning, and general hangar facility upkeep.

Participate in recurrent training and actively contribute to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Qualifications
-
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation preferred.

Certifications:
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate (or ability to obtain); Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating; current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of flight experience, with 4,000 total flight hours, 2,000 hours multi-engine, and 500 hours turbine. Minimum 1 year of experience serving as a safety officer or equivalent.

Preferences:
Type rating in Citation XLS+ (CE560XL).

Operational Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Safety Management Systems (SMS), meteorology, and aircraft systems.
Requirements & Abilities

Valid passport with the ability to travel worldwide without restriction.

Ability to live within a one-hour commutable distance of Le Mars, IA.

Capability to work a flexible, on-call schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with executive-level clientele.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with a focus on safety and detail.
