As the airline expands its modern fleet with the addition of up to 55 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, SAS invites qualified Captains and experienced First Officers ready for command to join its team. Candidate Requirements

All candidates must meet the following criteria at the time of application:

  • Unrestricted EASA ATPL (A).
  • EASA ATPL (A), CPL (A), or MPL (Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses accepted; must be converted before course start).
  • Valid Class 1 Medical certificate.
  • Valid Instrument Rating.
  • ICAO English Level 5 or 6.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.
  • Clean criminal record.

Flight Time Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following experience profiles:

  • 4,000 total flight hours, including 250 hours as PIC or PICUS.
  • OR 3,500 total flight hours, including 500 hours as PIC on aircraft with MTOW > 16T.
  • OR 3,000 total flight hours, including 1,000 hours as PIC on aircraft with MTOW > 16T.

Recruitment Process

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the posting may close at short notice. The selection process consists of the following phases:

  1. Online recruiter interview.
  2. Online cognitive and personality assessments.
  3. Assessment Day (group exercises, simulator session, and personal interview).
  4. Final checks (background screening, security interview, and medical/substance testing).

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to assessments in spring/summer 2026, with employment commencing in summer/fall 2026.

All offers of employment are subject to successful completion of mandatory background checks, security interviews, and license validation.
