Captain SA227 Cargo Pilot - Home Based
Waterfall Freight, through its subsidiaries, stands as one of the nation's largest air cargo companies and a leading provider of scalable, outsourced aviation services. Leveraging experienced personnel, Waterfall Freight enables major cargo integrators, manufacturers, aircraft operators, and freight forwarders to effectively navigate the dynamic demands of the supply chain. The company currently operates a fleet of Fairchild SA227 Metro IIIs and anticipates the addition of further aircraft types in the near future.
This position is for a Captain flying SA227 Metroliners within the company's air cargo operations. The Captain plays a crucial role in the reliable and efficient transport of freight across the network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serving as Pilot in Command (PIC) of the SA227 Metro III aircraft under FAR Part 135 regulations in various weather conditions, including IFR.
- Ensuring the safe and compliant operation of the aircraft for cargo transport.
- Potentially assisting with the loading and offloading of cargo as required.
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Meet or exceed FAR 135.243(c) requirements for PIC in IFR conditions.
- Satisfy all company insurance criteria regarding flight hour experience.
- Possess a Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine land and instrument ratings.
- Previous experience under FAR Part 121 or Part 135 is desired.
- Ability to fly internationally and hold a current Second Class Medical Certificate.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and be English Proficient.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship and be able to travel unrestricted in and out of the U.S.
Flight Hour Minimums (Must meet one of the following sets):
- 1,800 total time (TT), 1000 pilot-in-command (PIC), 500 hours cross-country (XC defined as point to point), 250 multi-engine, 100 turbine, 100 hours instrument (50 must be in aircraft), 100 hours night.
- 1,200 total time (TT) (1,700 preferred), 500 hours cross-country (XC defined as point to point), 50 multi-engine, 75 hours instrument (50 must be in actual flight), 100 hours night.
Location and Schedule:
This is a home-based position. While preference is given to candidates residing within the I-65 Corridor, individuals living in any city within the contiguous U.S. that is located within one hour of an airport served by at least two air carriers with daily service may be considered. The position follows a structured 7-week rotation schedule: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 2 weeks on, 1 week off, on an ongoing basis. Travel to and from assignments is provided via paid tickets. When on assignment away from the home base (if applicable), pilots are provided with hotel accommodations and a $40 per diem.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ranging from $90,000 to $107,000 annually, dependent on experience.
