Captain SA227 Cargo Pilot - Home Based
Waterfall Freight, a leading national air cargo company and unparalleled provider of scalable, outsourced aviation services through its subsidiaries, is seeking qualified Captains to join its growing team. Specializing in adapting to the dynamic demands of the supply chain, Waterfall Freight operates a fleet including Fairchild SA227 Metro IIIs, with plans for additional aircraft types.
About the position:
- This attractive opportunity is for a Home-Based Captain position flying SA227 Metroliners.
- The role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $90,000 to $107,000 annually, commensurate with experience, supplemented by mileage, cargo, and retention incentives.
- Candidates can live in any city within the contiguous United States located within one hour of an airport served by at least two air carriers offering daily service, though preference is given to candidates residing in the I-65 Corridor.
- Captains will operate on a unique, rotating schedule comprising two weeks on assignment, followed by two weeks off, then another two weeks on, concluding with one week off over an ongoing seven-week cycle.
- Travel to and from assignments is provided via a paid ticket.
- While on assignment away from the home base, pilots are provided with hotel accommodation and a daily per diem of $40.
- Responsibilities may also include assisting with the loading and offloading of cargo.
Position Requirements:
Applicants for the Captain role must meet specific qualifications to be considered.
- Must satisfy FAR 135.243(c) requirements for Pilot in Command (PIC) operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
- Must fulfill all company insurance criteria regarding flight hours.
- Holds a Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine land and instrument ratings.
- Previous experience operating under FAR Part 121 or 135 is desired.
- Must be eligible to fly internationally and possess a valid Second Class Medical Certificate.
- Capable of lifting and moving 75 pounds.
- Possesses an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Holds a valid Driver’s License and demonstrates English Proficiency.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship and be able to travel unrestricted in and out of the U.S.
Flight Experience Requirements:
Candidates should meet the following minimum flight hour requirements.
- 1,800 hours Total Time (TT), 1,000 hours PIC, 500 hours Cross-Country (XC, defined as point-to-point), 250 hours multi-engine, 100 hours turbine, 100 hours instrument (50 must be in aircraft), and 100 hours night.
Alternatively, candidates meeting the following requirements may be considered:
- 1,200 hours TT (1,700 preferred), 500 hours XC (defined as point-to-point), 50 hours multi-engine, 75 hours instrument (50 must be in actual flight), and 100 hours night.
