Key Responsibilities

The successful Cabin Crew member will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety compliance and exceptional hospitality throughout the flight duration. Key duties include:

  • Greeting and farewelling all guests during embarkation and disembarkation processes.
  • Conducting clear, comprehensive safety briefings and ensuring strict adherence to all established safety procedures.
  • Providing brilliant, proactive service to all guests.
  • Offering diligent assistance to guests with special needs, and ensuring an enjoyable and safe flying experience for unaccompanied minors.
  • Collaborating effectively as part of a dynamic team, meeting new colleagues and traveling to new destinations daily.
  • Demonstrating resilience and sound judgment when managing situations outside of standard control, such as weather delays or emergencies.
  • Maintaining a calm, confident, and clear-headed demeanor under pressure to ensure guests feel secure and well-cared for.
  • Ensuring comfort for all passengers, including being comfortable operating around domestic cats and dogs who may travel onboard occasionally.

Candidate Profile and Required Qualifications

Virgin Australia seeks individuals characterized by genuine hospitality, optimism, and a deep commitment to safety. Candidates with a professional background in high-contact customer service are highly encouraged to apply, including those experienced in caregiving, nursing, hotel services, or retail assistance.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A minimum age of 18 years at the time of application.
  • Possession of Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency status.
  • Demonstrated professional history of at least three years in part-time or full-time roles focused explicitly on caring for people and customers.
  • A valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining validity.
  • A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • A current Australian First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • The flexibility and availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, encompassing early starts, late finishes, weekends, public holidays, and peak travel periods.
  • Physical capability to reach a height of 180cm.
