While typical cabin crew roles often involve extended periods away, most shifts for this team conclude with same-day returns, with overnight stays being occasional exceptions. The ideal candidate will be calm, collected, empathetic, people-oriented, clear-headed, charming, and possess a down-to-earth demeanor, consistently going above and beyond to assist guests. Candidates with a background in customer service, hospitality, retail, aged care, nursing, or hotel environments possess highly relevant and valued skills for this role, even without prior aviation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and farewell guests onboard Virgin Australia aircraft.
- Deliver clear and comprehensive safety briefings, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Provide brilliant and attentive service to all guests, anticipating their needs and ensuring a positive travel experience.
- Offer dedicated assistance to guests with special needs and ensure a positive and engaging experience for unaccompanied minors.
- Collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills and maintain composure when managing unforeseen circumstances such as weather delays or emergencies.
- Instill confidence in guests through a calm, confident, and professional demeanor, especially under pressure.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this vital role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- A minimum of three (3) years of cumulative employment experience (part-time or full-time) in customer-centric or caring roles.
- A valid passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity.
- Possession of a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, or the ability to obtain one promptly.
- A current Australian First Aid and CPR certificate, or the ability to obtain one promptly.
- Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, encompassing early starts, late finishes, weekends, public holidays, and peak periods.
- Ability to reach up to a height of 180cm.
- Comfortable interacting with domestic animals, such as cats and dogs, who may travel onboard Virgin Australia aircraft from time to time.
