Role Description

An exceptional opportunity exists within our Sydney team for a Leader, Crew Culture, to provide dedicated support to our distinguished Cabin Crew, celebrated for seven consecutive years as Best Cabin Crew. This role seeks an inspiring, people-centric leader capable of cultivating an environment where crew members feel comprehensively supported, exude confidence, and are consistently prepared to deliver an unparalleled inflight experience.

Through insightful leadership, the successful candidate will significantly influence team culture, enhance wellbeing, and drive performance, ensuring that our crew feel genuinely valued and are empowered to excel. Reporting to the Crew Culture Manager (Base Manager), this position involves guiding the team through daily operations, championing adherence to safety protocols, service excellence, and collaborative practices. A pivotal aspect of this role is facilitating crew development, offering robust support during challenges, celebrating achievements, and fostering a profound sense of unity and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and motivate Cabin Crew, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that maximizes individual potential.
  • Lead the team in delivering exceptional service, achieving operational targets, and upholding stringent safety and service standards.
  • Champion the employee experience, focusing on coaching, performance management, engagement, recognition, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Cultivate strong interpersonal relationships with crew members, providing personalized coaching, guidance, and support.
  • Facilitate performance expectations and development conversations with clarity, sensitivity, and care.
  • Offer compassionate and practical support to crew members navigating wellbeing, injury management, and return-to-work processes.
  • Collaborate closely with operational departments to ensure seamless daily performance and a consistently outstanding guest experience.
  • Manage a team of over 100 direct reports in a dynamic, rewarding, and impactful fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven strong leadership experience within a safety-critical, customer-focused operational setting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large, diverse teams in high-paced environments.
  • A commitment to a people-first philosophy, with a genuine passion for employee development and building high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the capacity to perceive and respond to individuals with empathy.

  • Proficiency in working within Enterprise Agreements and established operational frameworks.
