Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Inflight Instructor/Evaluator will experience a dynamic and multi-faceted day, working within a fast-paced environment. This individual will play a pivotal role in facilitating various training programs for flight attendants, including Continuing Qualification, Aircraft Transition, Requalification, and Customer Service training, while also ensuring compliance with federal regulations, company policies and standards. They will deliver exceptional training experiences, focusing on student needs and supporting the operational objectives of United. The role is more than teaching, it offers the unique opportunity to influence how customers and colleagues perceive the brand.

The Instructor/Evaluator will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrating core values of being Safe, Caring, Dependable and Efficient, while delivering regulatory and service training curricula with approved lesson plans.
  • Conducting Announced and Unannounced Line Check Evaluations, offering comprehensive feedback to flight attendants and stakeholders.
  • Executing Service Line Checks to gather data to enhance the Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Conducting safety training events at flight attendant bases.
  • Evaluating trainee performance in accordance with FAA and United standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to United's core values, policy, and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Successful completion of United’s flight attendant training to obtain FAA certification is required. Maintaining these flight qualifications is an essential job function and failure to do so may result in termination.
  • Willingness to adhere to flight attendant tattoo guidelines, which prohibits tattoos on the head, neck, hands, or behind the ears.
  • Successful completion of United Airlines Inflight Training instructor program qualification.
  • Proven teaching, facilitating, and training experience.
  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment, with requirements for walking, lifting, and resetting equipment.
  • Proficiency in navigating content using electronic devices and learning regulatory and service material within these devices, including the Electronic Flight Attendant Manual (eFAOM) and Inflight Policies and Procedures Manual (IPPM).
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to treating others with dignity and respect.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing work environments.
  • Proven conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is crucial.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • AQP-qualified instructor/evaluator.
  • Management experience.
  • Working knowledge of CFR Part 121 regulations, Advanced Qualification Programs, the Aircraft Operators Standard Security Program and United flight attendant responsibilities and procedures.

Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from $64,885 to $88,440, depending on job-related factors such as experience, education, and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule. This role is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
