About the Role:
The Assistant Chief Pilot will:
- Supervise flight crews to ensure compliance with Company policy, FAA aircraft and operating procedures.
- Assist the Chief Pilot in developing, administering, coordinating, and implementing company policies.
- Ensure flight operational safety and compliance with flight standards of 14CFR 91, the company Operation Specification and all applicable manuals.
- Ensure the highest degree of safety in all operations and provide unwavering support to the Chief Pilot.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensuring through testing and/or observation that persons under their authority know and abide by applicable policies and regulations, including Federal Aviation Regulations, Airman's Informational Manual and Operations Specifications.
- Overseeing flight operations to guarantee adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations and operational specifications, monitoring and correcting operational standards for quality assurance.
- Identifying, anticipating, and taking corrective action to minimize flight delays due to scheduling operations, crew legality, and maintenance issues.
- Recommending and implementing approved policies according to the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Recommending process and communication improvements.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding client aircraft operations and sensitive or security issues.
- Performing pre- and post-flight inspections of aircraft, including fuel, equipment, and navigational systems.
- Operating the aircraft safely and maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings, as well as clean, stock, organize, and help maintain offices and aircraft to the highest standard.
About You:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor's degree in business management or its equivalent is preferred.
- Pilot License (FAA, ATP Multi Engine Land) free from infractions is required.
- Pilot Training Hours: Total Time: 3,000; 1,500 Hours PIC; 350 Hours Instrument; Multi Engine 1,000 hours; 300 hours in XLS+; 100 or more Hours in the Falcon 2000EX aircraft is required; additional pilot time in Falcon 2000LXS is preferred.
- 3 years' experience flying part 91 (FAR's) is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, operational specifications, and other technical data pertinent to aircraft operations.
- Advanced working knowledge of applicable FAA and EASA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to maintain a high level of personal decorum, confidentiality, professional conduct, and personal appearance.
- Demonstrated strong crew resource management skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
- Availability for frequent travel with overnight stays as needed, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency using an IPAD and advanced understanding of Foreflight and Aviation Manager.
- Ability to pass all required pre-employment background checks.
Compensation and Benefits:
Umpqua Bank offers a competitive total rewards package, including a base wage and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this exempt role is $130,000.00 to $180,000.00, with the pay rate for the selected candidate determined based on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
