Duties and Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Chief Pilot, ensuring alignment with operational directives and company policies.
- Assumes ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft during all ground and in-flight phases.
- Verifies passenger identification rigorously prior to boarding.
- Executes and meticulously completes all pre-flight checklists and necessary preparations.
- Provides comprehensive training and mentorship to First Officers, fostering their professional development on assigned flights and aircraft.
- Anticipates and proactively addresses customer needs, consistently striving to deliver an exceptional and prestigious service experience.
- Ensures strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, international aviation standards, the company General Operations Manual (GOM), Operational Specifications, and departmental operating procedures.
- Maintains seamless and effective communication and coordination with the assigned flight crew, dispatch, maintenance personnel, and administrative teams.
- Undertakes additional duties and responsibilities as directed by management or senior leadership, supporting overall operational excellence.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
Candidates must possess and continuously maintain a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate. The role requires the ability to remain seated comfortably within confined cockpit spaces for prolonged durations. Additionally, candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds independently.
Work Environment
The work environment for this Flight Crew position is dynamic and demanding. It primarily involves extended periods of sitting within the cockpit and close interaction with both customers and fellow flight crew members in a compact setting. The role necessitates significant domestic and international travel, often requiring extended periods away from home, potentially spanning several weeks, based on business needs, flight schedules, and itinerary demands. Flexibility is paramount, as the position involves irregular hours and the possibility of flight assignments or cancellations with minimal advance notice.
Experience & Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Pilot in Command position will possess a comprehensive background in aviation, demonstrating proficiency across a range of critical areas. Successful applicants are expected to meet the following essential criteria:
- Possess a minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time, including at least 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in multi-engine aircraft.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in overwater, long-haul, and complex international flight missions.
- Reside within a two-hour commute of a designated major airport hub (SNA, VNY, BUR, LAX, ONT, LGB, SAN, OAK, SFO, SJC, PDX, SEA, PHX, ABQ, LAS, RNO, DEN, DAL, DFW, AUS, DSM, IAH, HOU, PBI, FLL, MIA, TPA, MCO, ORD, PWK, ATL, GSO, CLT, TEB, LGA, EWR, JFK, or BOS). Preference will be given to candidates based in Las Vegas (LAS).
- Proven track record of delivering prestigious guest service to high-profile clients, consistently exercising the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
- COVID-19 Vaccination is required for this position due to international travel mandates.
- Hold a valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Commercial Pilot Certificate.
- Possess a current Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Maintain a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Hold a current and unexpired US Passport.
- A current type rating in the applied aircraft is highly desirable.
- Must be eligible to fly internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restrictions.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
