Role Summary and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join the team of flight test professionals, playing an essential role in developing and delivering state-of-the-art flight test curriculum. Responsibilities encompass providing both academic instruction and airborne training across all facets of Fixed Wing Performance, Flying Qualities (P&FQ), and Systems curriculum to both Test Pilot and Flight Test Engineer students.

This position requires superior interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a diverse, multinational cultural environment. The instructor must possess the critical ability to articulate complex technical subjects clearly, ensuring comprehensive student assimilation and practical application in the field of flight testing.

Required Qualifications (Essential Criteria)

  • Successful graduation from an SETP recognized Test Pilot School.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related field pertinent to flight testing.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of practical experience serving as a Fixed Wing Experimental Test Pilot.
  • Possession of a valid FAA Medical Certificate (2nd Class minimum).
  • Demonstrated professional fluency in the English language.

Highly Desired Qualifications (Advantageous Criteria)

  • Extensive flight test experience, ideally exceeding ten (10) years.
  • Prior instructional experience within a Test Pilot School environment.
  • Attainment of a Master’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent closely related technical field).
  • Specific test experience pertaining to Civil Certification, Radar systems, Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) systems, and Communication/Navigation (Comm/Nav) systems.
  • Possession of an FAA Commercial Pilot License, including Airplane (Single Engine Land/Multi Engine Land - SEL/MEL), Certified Flight Instructor/Multi-Engine Instructor (CFI/MEI), and Instrument Airplane rating.
  • Type Rating or Authorized Experimental designation for aircraft such as S-265, AV-L39, MB-326, or NH-T38.
  • Holding an EASA Flight Test Instructor rating.
  • Practical experience with Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and/or Helmet Mounted Display technology.

Compensation and Benefits

NTPS offers a highly competitive salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is provided, including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, Life Insurance, generous Paid Time Off (commencing at three weeks annually), and a 401K retirement plan with corporate matching. Relocation assistance may also be offered.
