Boeing Canada is seeking a skilled and experienced Global Engagement Pilot to join its team in Calgary, Alberta. This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to significantly influence safety and operations within Boeing's global flight operations and those of its esteemed customers worldwide.
As a Global Engagement Pilot, the incumbent will operate within the high-visibility Pilot Services Team, serving as a key representative for The Boeing Company in critical industry and regulatory forums. The role involves developing extensive customer engagement strategies aimed at enhancing flight operations safety and optimizing the utilization of Boeing products. This position requires interaction with a diverse range of aviation professionals, including pilots, management, regulators, executives, peers, support personnel, and Subject Matter Experts. Occasional opportunities will arise to serve as Pilot-in-Command on flights and to deploy to customer sites in an instructor capacity.
This position operates on a hybrid model, requiring some onsite work in Calgary as determined by the hiring team. Significant travel is anticipated, with the position requiring travel approximately 50% of the time.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops and cultivates strategic relationships and partnerships with key industry stakeholders, regulatory authorities, industry bodies, peers, and partners.
- Secures necessary resources for projects and processes, provides technical oversight to suppliers, and leads initiatives for process improvement.
- Develops and executes comprehensive project and process plans, implements established policies and procedures, and sets operational objectives.
- Plans and conducts activities related to the development and delivery of familiarization, qualification, standardization, flight, and ground instruction for both company and customer aircrews.
- Consistently demonstrates the highest standards of crew resource management during aircraft operations.
- Manages, mentors, develops, and evaluates pilots performing aircrew duties, including activities focused on preparing for and conducting safe flight operations.
- Operates Boeing and customer aircraft in the capacity of Pilot in Command and Instructor.
Required Qualifications:
- Must hold legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Holds a current FAA ATP or EASA ATPL, or an equivalent international pilot license.
- Holds a current FAA or EASA First Class Medical certificate, or an equivalent international medical certificate.
- Minimum of 5000 hours of total flight time in a public transport category aircraft.
- Minimum of 1000 hours of flight instructor time.
- Must not pose a risk regarding the safeguarding of controlled goods.
- Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
- Experience in presenting to all levels of management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Holds a current B737, B787, or B777 type rating.
- Experience as an FAA Part 121 Airline Instructor Pilot and/or Line Check Airman, or an international equivalent.
- Possession of a valid passport or the ability to obtain one, facilitating both domestic and international travel.
- Experience in international and transoceanic flight operations.
Additional Information:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada by Boeing Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canadian standards and are not based on Boeing US payroll.
