Position Summary
The Senior Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Swagelok-owned aircraft, serving as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for Gulfstream G600 and G280 aircraft. This role requires providing exceptional customer service to passengers, assisting with trip planning, and managing administrative projects within the Flight Operations department. The successful candidate must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time and reside within a one-hour drive of the Swagelok hangar.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Act as PIC or second-in-command (SIC) of Gulfstream G600 and G280 aircraft.

Ensure compliance with all domestic and foreign regulations and internal flight operations manual policies.

Supervise crewmembers, assign duties, monitor performance, and delegate passenger service responsibilities.

Conduct preflight and postflight inspections, including security, cleanliness, and restocking of provisions.

Analyze weather conditions, calculate fuel requirements, and manage weight and balance.

Prepare flight plans, logs, and briefing packets.

Make critical decisions regarding flight delays, cancellations, or route deviations based on operational conditions.

Collaborate with schedulers and maintenance technicians regarding trip logistics and aircraft status.

Maintain regulatory training currency and participate in the growth of the Flight Operations Safety Management System (SMS).

Manage and participate in departmental administrative programs and projects.
Position Requirements
-
FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license.

Type rating in Gulfstream G600 and/or G280 (500 hours in type preferred).

2,500 hours total time, 1,000 hours PIC, and 1,000 hours turbine time.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate, U.S. passport, and U.S. driver’s license.

International Flight Procedures training.

COVID-19 vaccination and no restrictions on international travel.
Preferred Qualifications

International piloting experience in Europe, South America, and Asia.
Skills and Knowledge

Extensive knowledge of corporate flight department operations involving long-range international aircraft.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead teams and resolve conflict.

High proficiency in problem-solving, risk mitigation, and decision-making for safety-critical activities.

High degree of computer literacy and familiarity with aircraft technical libraries.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability to perform essential job functions consistent with ADA and FMLA standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and keep all required travel credentials and medical certifications current.

Must be physically capable of safely carrying and hoisting baggage on and off the aircraft.
