Spartan College, a leading institution in aviation education, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Flight Crew Scheduler Supervisor to oversee and optimize its critical flight crew scheduling and dispatch operations. Based at our campus, this role is instrumental in ensuring that all flight operations are meticulously planned, properly crewed, and fully compliant with all regulatory standards before departure, supporting a dynamic flight training environment.

About the Role

The Flight Crew Scheduler Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational functions of crew scheduling and dispatch, providing supervision and direct assistance. This pivotal role ensures the integrity of the flight schedule and plays a key part in the efficient utilization of aircraft and flight instructors within a busy educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Spartan flight schedule.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational communications related to scheduling and dispatch.
  • Supervise scheduling and dispatch departments, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and follow up on dispatch cancellations, implementing appropriate resolutions.
  • Oversee the performance of crew schedulers and dispatchers, conducting performance reviews and implementing disciplinary actions as required.
  • Track the on-time dispatch performance of flight instructors and students.
  • Manage lesson cancellations in accordance with Spartan College policies.
  • Guide students through the flight operations scheduling process and aircraft utilization procedures.
  • Conduct arrival and end-of-day security inspections.
  • Coordinate effectively with instructors to ensure student readiness for flight.
  • Prepare and complete required operational reports.
  • Execute plans for irregular operations, including major cancellations, SWAP events, and delays, as directed by the Crew Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with Dispatch and Maintenance teams to swiftly resolve operational, instructor, and student-related issues.
  • Uphold professional conduct and enforce the Student Code of Conduct rules, maintaining a positive and customer-friendly attitude.
  • Ensure comprehensive compliance with all Spartan College policies and procedures governing flight and dispatch operations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling and/or dispatch operations within an aviation context.
  • Possession of sound judgment and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Excellent time management, follow-through, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the proven ability to build effective relationships across all levels of management and with pilots.
  • A strategic and forward-thinking mindset.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of specialized scheduling and flight software, particularly Talon.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or GED is required. An Associate degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Certificates/Licenses: No specific certificates, licenses, or registrations are required for this role.
