Responsibilities:
As Lead Captain, you are entrusted with the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, ensuring the safety of all passengers, crew, and the aircraft itself. This multifaceted role encompasses:
- Leadership and Mentorship: Providing guidance and leadership to all team members assigned to the aircraft.
- Safety and Compliance: Upholding the highest safety standards, ensuring compliance with all Silver Air policies and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Flight Operations: Planning and executing all aspects of private jet flight operations, encompassing flight planning, fuel management, weight and balance calculations, pre-flight inspections, and accurate completion of all trip paperwork.
- Communication and Collaboration: Liaising with the aircraft owner, internal Silver Air departments, and crew members to ensure seamless operations and a positive client experience.
- Aviation Resource Management (ARM): Understanding and adhering to the aircraft management plan, collaborating with maintenance and crew scheduling, and promoting efficient resource utilization.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership qualities, and a commitment to safety:
- Flight Experience:
- Total Time: 3500 hours (3000 hours PIC)
- Multi-Engine Time: 3000 hours (2000 hours PIC)
- Turbine Time: 1750 hours preferred
- Time in Type: 200 hours (100 hours PIC)
- Type Rating: HS125 or comparable aircraft
- Medical Certification: Valid First Class Medical Certificate (required)
- Additional Requirements:
- Previous Part 135 experience preferred
- Compliance with ICAO Annex I - 2.1.1.0
- Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for travel to/from Canada
Work Environment:
Silver Air does not utilize floating fleets. As a Lead Captain, you will be assigned to a specific tail number and aircraft type, working consistently with a dedicated team of two other pilots (Captain and First Officer). The company provides robust support through its Flight Management and Support team.
