Position Overview
The Principal Pilot provides expert guidance and strategic operational direction for the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area. This role involves overseeing critical and complex missions, driving program development, and providing mentorship to pilot personnel. The Principal Pilot serves as a key advisor to leadership, ensuring mission success through advanced piloting skills and rigorous operational strategy.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the execution of high-stakes, complex aviation missions.

Develop and implement strategic operational plans to align with organizational objectives.

Provide expert-level piloting for mission-critical operations.

Mentor senior and junior pilots to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Oversee safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management protocols.

Advise leadership on aviation-related matters and analyze mission outcomes to drive operational enhancements.

Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to optimize aircraft performance and safety.

Represent the organization in high-level briefings and meetings.
Required Qualifications
-
8+ years of professional experience.
-
Minimum of 5,000 hours of total flight time.
-
Minimum of 1,500 hours total fixed-wing pilot-in-command (PIC) time in multi-engine turbo prop or jet aircraft with a Gross Take-Off Weight (GTOW) of 12,500 lbs or greater.

Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with instrument and multi-engine ratings.

Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Army Instructor Pilot certification.

FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.

Ability to pass an FAA/Military Pilot Background Check and mandatory drug and alcohol screening.

Proven leadership experience in high-stakes operational environments.

In-depth knowledge of strategic planning and aviation management.

U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Military flight training background and/or prior service.

Experience in executive leadership roles within combat or operational missions.

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.

Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in aviation, aerospace, or a related field.

Experience with cutting-edge aviation technology.
-
U.S. Military survival and/or physiological training.

Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry or Department of Defense.

2,000 hours total fixed-wing time as PIC or SIC in multi-engine turbo-prop or jet aircraft (GTOW 12,500+ lbs).
Essential Functions

Ability to work in high-stress or potentially hazardous environments.

Possess the fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination required for aircraft operation.

Must be able to respond to audio cues in loud environments.

Frequent travel and on-call availability required.

Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment when not on missions.
Compensation and Benefits
