SAS, a vital link connecting Scandinavia with the world since 1946, is seeking highly motivated First Officers to join its Embraer 190 and Airbus A320 fleet. The successful candidate will embark on their career flying some of the industry's newest and most modern aircraft, facing diverse and challenging operational environments, from busy international airports to remote airfields. SAS provides a solid foundation for professional growth, with opportunities to progress to flying the A350 on international routes or to become a Captain on the EMB190, assuming greater responsibility and leading their own crew.
SAS seeks candidates who, in addition to excellent piloting skills, demonstrate strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to cooperate effectively with a wide range of colleagues. The ideal candidate is resilient, manages stress well, and is committed to ensuring customers have a safe and enjoyable flight.
Selected candidates will be invited to an online assessment. Successful candidates will then be invited to a physical assessment day, including a group task, a personal interview, and a simulator assessment (45 minutes as Pilot Monitoring (PM) and 45 minutes as Pilot Flying (PF)). Candidates are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses for the assessment day. Training courses are scheduled for winter and spring 2025, as well as late summer 2025.
SAS covers all necessary training costs after employment. A training bond applies if employment is terminated within 36 months (Full Type Rating: 250,000 DKK/SEK/NOK for 36 months; Renewed Type Ratings: 100,000 DKK/SEK/NOK for 24 months). Employees are entitled to 42 days of vacation per year, with a rotated summer vacation system providing 3 weeks during the summer months.
SAS operates with Variable Group and Fixed Group rostering systems. New hires are initially placed in the Variable Group, providing a minimum of 11 days off per month. Industry-discounted (ID) tickets are available for leisure travel, along with staff discount tickets offering up to 40% savings. A daily allowance is provided to flight crew to cover expenses incurred while on duty or during training.
