Aviation Instructor - Construction Programs

Position Overview

The Aviation Instructor is responsible for the comprehensive teaching and supervision of students across all Construction cluster programs. This role collaborates closely with fellow construction program instructors and operates under the direction of the CTE/CTI Director, Director of Workforce Development, and Director of Operations and Grants. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies, ensuring appropriate integration of curriculum across programs, and performing other assigned job-related duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of field experience in HVAC/heat pump installation or service, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of energy efficiency and green building technologies.
  • Current certification or commitment to obtain EPA Section 608 Certification.
  • Proficiency in ductwork design, fabrication, installation, and airflow diagnostics.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical schematics, equipment specifications, and building plans.
  • Proven ability to deliver hands-on technical training and clearly communicate concepts to diverse adult learner populations.
  • Commitment to safety compliance, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and best practices.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills to support diverse adult learner groups.
  • Experience collaborating with employers to connect learners to on-the-job training, internships, or employment pathways.

Work Details

  • Work Year: Grant funded: September 2025 – January 2026
  • FTE/Hours: Part-time, evening hours during the school calendar year. Additional opportunities may be available.
  • Salary: $75.00 per hour
  • Reports To: CTI/STI Program Manager, Career & Technical Education Director, Executive Principal Salem High School
