The Role of Cabin Crew

As a core member of the flight operations team, the Cabin Crew member’s primary responsibility is ensuring the highest standards of safety and security, complemented by the delivery of a top-class customer service experience. This role requires diligence, professionalism, and flexibility.

Cabin Crew members are required to operate within a shift roster, adhering to demanding operational hours. Duty periods may commence as early as 5:00 AM for early shifts or conclude near midnight for late shifts. Applicants must carefully consider the commitment required for working highly adaptable shift patterns before applying.

Training, Career Progression, and Development

The journey to becoming a qualified Cabin Crew member begins with a rigorous 6-week training course. This course provides all fundamental skills necessary for the day-to-day delivery of safety protocols and passenger service. The training curriculum includes regular examinations and culminates in Supernumerary flights, leading to the award of Cabin Crew Wings.

Essential Candidate Requirements

Prospective Cabin Crew members must fulfill the following mandatory criteria:

  • Applicants must hold the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK and/or travel freely throughout the Ryanair Network.
  • Height must be approximately between 157 cm (5’2”) and 188 cm (6’2”).
  • The ability to swim 25 meters unaided, including the capacity to support another person in the water, is mandatory.
  • Must be comfortable speaking and writing fluently in English, with the ability to successfully pass a structured English Language Assessment.
  • A highly flexible and adaptable approach to shift work and roster changes is essential.
  • Candidates should possess an outgoing, friendly personality, a 'can-do' attitude, and a passion for dealing with the public and providing excellent customer service.
  • A genuine passion for travelling and meeting new people is highly valued.
