Royal Flying Doctor Service | Pilot

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is seeking a full-time Primary Health Care Pilot to be based at Roma Base, Queensland. This role involves operating Beechcraft King Air B200 aircraft to deliver aeromedical and primary healthcare services, including obstetric and gynaecological healthcare, to remote communities.

About the Role

This permanent, full-time position operates on a roster of 14 shifts per month. The Pilot will join a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the safe and effective delivery of healthcare services across regional and outback Queensland. Key responsibilities include operating RFDS aircraft in accordance with regulations, preparing aircraft for flight, completing necessary documentation, and maintaining operational knowledge.

Requirements

• A current Instrument Rating for Multi-Engine Aircraft with four renewals is preferred.
• Possession of a current Australian ATPL or CPL.
• A current Class 1 medical certificate.
• A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flying time.
• A minimum of 1,000 hours as a pilot of multi-engine aircraft.
• A minimum of 100 hours as Pilot in Command at night.
• A minimum of 200 hours of instrument time.
• A minimum of 50 hours on type or similar aircraft type experience.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid working rights.
• Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• A current unrestricted Queensland driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• ATPL_ICAO or CPL licence.
• Class 1 Medical.
