LIFT Academy, a leading flight training institution located in West Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor to support the leadership of its ground and flight instructor teams. This role involves conducting crucial stage and end-of-course checks, alongside providing comprehensive ground instruction in compliance with FAA regulations, Airmen’s Information Manual, advisory circulars, and LIFT Academy's established policies and procedures.
About the Role

Assists in leading Part 141 ground and flight instructors.

Conducts stage checks and end of course checks.

Provides ground instruction in accordance with Part 61 and 141 regulations.

Performs flight instructor and check instructor duties as authorized by the Federal Aviation Regulations.

Reports on student progress and maintains accurate records.

Audits student records and manages student enrollments and graduations.

Ensures course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met.

Monitors the maintenance condition of training aircraft and reports issues.

Recommends and develops curriculum improvements.

Manages a team of flight instructors, including screening, interviewing, hiring recommendations, coaching, and performance appraisal.
Requirements

Specialty training beyond high school in FAA and/or Airline Transport Pilot certificate.

FAA Certified Flight Instructor, Airplane Single Engine Land: Airplane Multi-Engine Land, Instrument.

A minimum of 1 year of experience as a flight instructor.

A minimum of 500 flight hours.

Must hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Must meet the minimum requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate.

Must meet current hiring minimum age and flight hour requirements set by the FAA and Company.

Full knowledge of all authorized curriculums.

Knowledge of and ability to apply effective instructional techniques in the classroom and in flight.

Ability to teach and perform well in a classroom setting.

Computer skills are required.

Aircraft piloting skills, including familiarity with and ability to perform required flight maneuvers and procedures.

Knowledge of appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and related administrative and operational procedures and requirements.

Strong customer service skills.

G1000 experience is preferred.

141 experience is preferred.

Check instructor experience is preferred.
Regulatory Compliance

Must be able to pass an initial and on-going drug and alcohol testing program.
