BASIC FUNCTION

Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks as they relate to RTFlight operations. Create an annual RTFlight safety plan and safety goals. Fly as a crewmember assigned to RTFlight aircraft.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain responsibility for the oversight of safe flight operations, policies and procedures and the compliance of all applicable aviation regulations for RTFlight operations.
  • Provide leadership to the Executive Director, Chief Pilot and Supervisory Captains in the development of safe operating procedures for aircrews in all types of aircraft operated by RTFlight.
  • Develop RTFlight policies and procedures that keep RTFlight on the leading edge of operational policies in the corporate aviation industry. Manage and maintain the EH&S Manual.
  • Establish and implement an annual Safety Plan.
  • Ensure the safe, efficient and coordinated use of all operational facilities and equipment as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Develop expense and capital budgets related to safety. Review monthly and annual measurements of financial and operational data and identify alternative budget strategies and their impact.
  • Ensure compliance with all UTC, State and Federal Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations as they apply to aircraft operations.
  • Proficiently perform the duties of Pilot-in-Command on RTFlight owned or leased aircraft, to transport passengers, material or the aircraft itself. Maintain situation awareness at all times. Exercise good judgment when making in-flight and on the ground decisions. Safely execute all flights by utilizing professional flying and flight planning skills in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration, and the policies and procedures of RTFlight.
  • Utilize Crew Resource Management skills to ensure that all available resources are used, including checklists, instrumentation, other crewmembers, ATC, etc. Regularly review and maintain a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, flight procedures, SOPs, FARs and ICAO regulations.
  • Maintain proficiency in other disciplines (i.e., Meteorology) necessary for safe planning and execution of the trip. Maintain flight currency requirements at all times.
  • Direct the implementation of the RTFlight Emergency Response Plan in the event of an aircraft accident or incident. Coordinate an annual exercise of the emergency response plan and evaluate the plan’s capabilities.
  • Maintain all processes within span of control in accordance with current ISBAO and ISO9001 requirements.
  • Ensure that all activities are in compliance with all appropriate Raytheon Technologies and Government Diversity and Ethics policies and guidelines.
  • Must be able to travel worldwide without restriction. Travel requirements/business needs of the client population dictate specific travel plans. Specifically, the incumbent must be able and willing to travel to all areas of the Middle East to include Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries as necessary. Additional travel to other areas will also be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Typically requires: a Bachelor’s degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Management or a related field or equivalent.
  • Ten years of experience in aviation management, preferably in corporate setting; ten or more years of experience as a professional pilot or equivalent is desired.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with management, air crews, maintenance personnel, safety agencies and the regulatory agencies.
  • Any crewmember hired after April 3, 2020, must keep his/her primary residence within one hour driving distance of RTFlight.
