Qualcomm is actively seeking an exceptional International Captain to join its highly professional flight operations team. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Pilot and demands a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and global air travel for the company.

Key Responsibilities

Flight Operations and Safety Management

  • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on international and domestic missions, ensuring the safe, effective, and timely execution of all flights.
  • Operate state-of-the-art Gulfstream G650ER & G800 aircraft, demonstrating advanced systems knowledge and superior airmanship.
  • Adhere rigorously to Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles, standard operating procedures (SOPs), Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and Qualcomm’s Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
  • Collaborate proactively with the scheduling team to conduct thorough risk assessments and adjust trip plans as necessary to maintain the utmost safety standards.
  • Perform comprehensive research for trip planning, considering all pertinent data, passenger requirements, and potential contingencies.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding and currency with new aviation procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements, including FAA and ICAO standards.
  • Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS), championing a robust and just safety culture throughout the department.
  • Execute all post-flight duties, including administrative tasks and clear communication of maintenance-related issues to technical personnel.

Team Integration and Professional Development

  • Contribute actively and positively to the flight department's culture and success beyond direct flight duties.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assimilate and apply new job-related information and operational best practices efficiently.
  • Successfully complete ancillary duties and special projects within established timelines.
  • Share knowledge and insights with colleagues to continuously improve departmental manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Take initiative for personal and professional growth, seeking out new learning and development opportunities within the aviation sector.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with external stakeholders to enhance departmental knowledge and foster growth.

Job Conditions

This dynamic role involves working within the aircraft flight deck, in a corporate office environment, and requires extensive travel to various domestic and international locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with a multi-engine rating and at least one jet type rating.
  • Extensive and proven international aviation experience.
  • A current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Captain operating under FAR Part 91, 121, 135, or military equivalent operations.
  • Current and qualified as a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in a multi-engine business jet or equivalent aircraft, demonstrating:
    • 4,000 hours total flying time.
    • 2,000 hours turbojet aircraft time.
    • 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command time, with at least 1,000 hours specifically in turbojet aircraft.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Automated Cockpit Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS).
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Flight Management Systems (FMS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Type ratings in Gulfstream GVI, GVII, and/or GVIII aircraft are highly advantageous.
  • A four-year college degree is considered desirable.

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to present all logbooks, licenses, and current medical certificates for comprehensive inspection.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this distinguished position is $259,600.00 - $389,400.00. This salary range represents one component of Qualcomm's comprehensive total compensation package, which also includes a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for annual Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grants.
