Aviation Captain

PepsiCo Aviation is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Aviation Captain to join its flight operations team based at the Westchester County Airport in White Plains, NY. This pivotal role is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and passenger comfort.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts flight operations in strict accordance with all international, federal, state, local, and corporate regulations and policies.
- Serves as Pilot-in-Command, exercising final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft.
- Supervises and leads the flight crew during all phases of flight operations.
- Ensures the maximum safety, security, and comfort of all passengers onboard.
- Performs detailed flight planning, including route analysis, performance calculations, and weather assessment.
- Briefs the First Officer thoroughly on flight plan details, weather conditions, and operational considerations.
- Ensures aircraft are meticulously cleaned, properly stocked, and fully prepared for flight with all necessary provisions for passenger safety and comfort.
- Verifies that all required certificates and manuals are present onboard the aircraft prior to departure.
- Utilizes strong communication and interpersonal skills, employing effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles in all aspects of aircraft operation.
- Solicits constructive feedback from both aircraft crewmembers and passengers to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of and strictly adheres to the PepsiCo Aviation Department Policies and Procedures Manual and relevant Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Demonstrates an appropriate level of knowledge and proficiency in day-to-day flight operations and participates in annual Operational Effectiveness Reviews conducted by a Standards Captain.
- Assists with the loading and unloading of baggage and attends to passenger needs as required.
- Performs duties as Second-in-Command when scheduling necessitates.
- Ensures all required licenses and certificates remain current to comply with Company and FAA requirements.
- Actively participates in regularly scheduled ground and simulator training, maintaining flight proficiency and knowledge of all flight operations, regulations, and aircraft systems.
- Contributes to administrative activities, which may include assisting with proposals, feasibility studies, reports, and participating in review groups, as directed by management.
- Collaborates with the PepsiCo management team to develop and refine procedures and processes aimed at improving department productivity, utilizing PepsiCo Inclusion techniques.
Reporting Structure:
The Aviation Captain reports directly to the Manager of Flight Operations. When assigned duties as a First Officer, the Captain reports functionally to the designated Pilot-in-Command for the duration of the assigned trip.
Accountabilities:
- Solely responsible for the safe and compliant conduct of assigned flights.
- Ensures strict adherence to all local, state, federal, and international regulations governing flight operations.
- When serving as Pilot-in-Command on a trip, supervises the performance of the crew, coordinates trip logistics with passengers, and retains final authority for the operation of the aircraft.
- Maintains a professional appearance and conducts all interactions with tact and decorum.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected compensation range for this position is between $207,300 - $285,000 annually. The specific starting salary will be determined based on location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education. Compensation includes a performance and eligibility-based bonus, with a target payout of 8% of the annual salary, paid out annually.

Qualifications:
- Holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license (preferred).
- Possesses a type rating in the specific aircraft for which the role requires acting as Captain (preferred).
- Holds a valid First Class FAA medical certificate issued within the preceding twelve (12) calendar months.
- Holds a valid FCC Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Minimum of 3,000 hours total flight time.
- Minimum of 1,000 hours flight time as Pilot-in-Command.
- Minimum of 500 hours multiengine jet flight time.
- Minimum of 500 hours multiengine jet flight time within the last two years.
- Minimum of 250 hours in type is required for internal promotion from First Officer to Captain.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and other directives applicable to the corporate aviation environment.
- Possesses an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
