Job Summary
Pentastar Aviation seeks a dedicated Pilot in Command (PIC) for its Gulfstream fleet, specifically operating G500 aircraft. The PIC is paramount in ensuring the safety of passengers and crew, alongside the efficient and timely operation of the aircraft. This role involves supervising the flight crew, ensuring strict adherence to all FAA regulations for flight and ground operations, and making critical decisions regarding flight planning, scheduling, and potential disruptions such as delays, rerouting, or cancellations. The successful candidate will also contribute to general department duties when not actively flying.
This position is based in Waterford, MI. Candidates must reside within a two-hour radius of Waterford, MI. Pilots at Pentastar Aviation typically fly approximately 250 hours per year.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety of passengers and crew.
- Managing the comfortable and timely operation of the aircraft.
- Supervising the flight crew.
- Ensuring compliance with all FAA Regulations for flight and ground operations.
- Determining flight routes, speed, takeoff, and landing times to meet scheduling requirements.
- Making decisions regarding potential delays, rerouting, or flight cancellations.
- Performing other general department duties as assigned when not flying.
Qualifications
- ATP Certificate required.
- Minimum of 4,000 hours of Total Flight Time.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience with G500/G600/G700/G800 aircraft is highly desirable.
- Prior business aviation experience is required.
- Large cabin Gulfstream experience is required.
- International experience is required.
- Ability to manage a changing work schedule.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class medical certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- GVII and/or GVIII type ratings.
- Prior experience in GVII and/or GVIII aircraft.
