General Manager, Training Operations & Flight Standards

Position Summary
Pan Am is seeking an accomplished and dynamic General Manager, Training Operations & Flight Standards to lead and oversee all facets of training services at its Miami facilities. This pivotal role ensures the highest quality of aviation training, strict regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer satisfaction. The General Manager will manage crucial relationships with regulatory bodies such as the FAA and EASA, in addition to supporting diverse airline and private customer training requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive managerial oversight for all assigned training services delivered at Pan Am's Miami training facilities.
- Ensures rigorous compliance of training service delivery, training documentation, and courseware validity with appropriate regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR 142, EASA), the Company's Quality Assurance program, and internal policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and supports other departments in fulfilling upcoming training requirements for airline and private customers.
- Manages and maintains critical regulatory relationships pertaining to Pan Am’s FAR 142 Certificate and ATO, including engagement with the FAA, EASA, and various airline customer regulators, to ensure continuous compliance and meet evolving customer demands.
- Monitors and oversees the daily delivery of training services to uphold the highest quality programs and instructional standards.
- Ensures the meticulous certification, qualification, currency, and proficiency of all instructors.
- Closely monitors Wet Lease (WET) training for commercial airline accounts, serving as a primary point of contact (POC) to ensure training services, compliance obligations, training materials, and customer expectations are consistently met.
- Collaborates effectively with the Operations Control Center (OCC) Vice President, Managers, Supervisors, and scheduling and records functions to optimize service delivery.
- Drives the standardization of program content and delivery across all training offerings.
- Provides essential support for Program Managers, Evaluator Instructor Quality Assurance (QA) functions, and auditors as required.
- Coordinates with OCC Administration concerning student records functions.
- Maintains and manages comprehensive instructor training records.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or technical school.
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of related management experience, coupled with ten (10) years as an aviation instructor, check airman, or equivalent aviation management experience. Airline experience is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Possesses the prerequisites to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE). Holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with a type rating appropriate to one or more programs/airplanes.
