Position Summary
Pan Am is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented General Manager, Training Operations & Flight Standards. This pivotal role is responsible for the comprehensive managerial oversight of all assigned training services at Pan Am's Miami facilities. The General Manager will ensure stringent compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements, including FAR 142 Certificate standards, FAA, and EASA regulations, as well as company quality assurance programs and internal policies and procedures. A key responsibility involves managing critical regulatory relationships for Pan Am’s Approved Training Organization (ATO) and coordinating effectively with airline customer regulators to meet all compliance and customer expectations. Additionally, the role involves proactive coordination and support for other departments regarding upcoming airline and private customer training requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and oversee the delivery of all aviation training services, ensuring the highest standards of program quality and instructional excellence.
- Ensure the certification, ongoing qualification, currency, and proficiency of all training instructors.
- Closely monitor Wet Lease (WET) training for commercial airline accounts, acting as a primary point of contact (POC) to ensure training services, compliance obligations, training materials, and customer expectations are consistently met.
- Collaborate effectively with the Operations Control Center (OCC) Vice President, Managers, Supervisors, and scheduling and records functions to optimize service delivery.
- Drive standardization of program content and delivery across all training offerings.
- Provide essential support to Program Managers, Evaluator Instructors, Quality Assurance functions, and auditors as required.
- Coordinate closely with OCC Administration regarding student records management.
- Maintain and manage comprehensive instructor training records.
- Perform other duties pertinent to the role as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or technical school, coupled with at least five years of directly related aviation management experience.
- A minimum of ten years of experience as an aviation instructor, check airman, or equivalent senior aviation management role.
- Fulfillment of all prerequisites to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE).
- Prior experience within an airline or large flight training organization is highly preferred.
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with a type rating appropriate to one or more of the programs' aircraft.
- Proficiency in standard office software and computer systems.
