Job Overview

Minimum Qualifications for First Officers

  • 500 hours of Total Flight Time.
  • Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with IATRA or ATPL. (IATRA must be completed within the last 18 months).
  • Current Multi-Engine Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) rating.
  • Valid Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Adherence to Crew Practices Manual and applicable bonds.
  • Ability to travel away from home, including overnight stays.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, Canadian permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit for Canada.
  • Ability to travel to and from the United States without restrictions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Preference will be given to candidates possessing:

  • A type rating for the Saab aircraft.
  • Multi-crew, multi-engine, IFR, and/or turbine experience in operations corresponding to Canadian Air Transport Regulations (CARs) 600/702/703/704/705, or military operations.
  • Flight Instructor candidates with 1000+ hours of total flight time experience will be considered.

What Pacific Coastal Airlines Offers

Compensation and Financial Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary: $52.08/Credit Hour (with a $50,000/year minimum base salary for pilots with 1000+ hours Total Time, achieved upon reaching that experience level or on their 1st anniversary, whichever comes first).
  • Starting rate of $41.03/Credit Hour for candidates with lower experience levels.
  • Per diem rate of $5.10 per duty hour.
  • Guaranteed minimum of 80 flying credits per month.
  • Maximum of 18 duty-periods per monthly schedule, with fewer duty periods when longer credit duty periods are worked.
  • Opportunities for overtime pay.
  • Upgrade Retention Bonus: A one-time $25,000 bonus for eligible First Officers who upgrade to Captain after completing two years in the Captain role.

Schedule and Work-Life Balance:

  • Wild Card Day system for reserving important dates.
  • Statutory holidays banked, providing schedule control to replace worked days with Guaranteed Days Off, which can be accumulated for up to 3 weeks of paid time off in addition to annual vacation.
