Inflight Training Instructor

Overview
PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, is seeking an Inflight Training Instructor to join the team in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for delivering FAA-approved Flight Attendant training programs and ensuring the professional readiness of new hire students and current Flight Attendants.
Responsibilities

Deliver Flight Attendant training program materials in a clear, organized manner using established instructional methods.

Prepare for instruction by developing comprehensive knowledge of training subject matter.

Accommodate diverse learning needs by effectively utilizing lesson plans, guides, and training aids.

Provide subject matter expertise regarding Inflight Services policies and procedures.

Serve as a mentor and role model for Flight Attendants, evaluating performance and behavior.

Ensure training devices and equipment are functional and compliant with safety standards.

Identify and mitigate hazards associated with training equipment to ensure the safety of instructors and students.

Maintain accurate training records and complete all required administrative documentation.

Successfully complete all required qualification trainings and observation assessments.

Conduct periodic line checks and observation flights.

Act as a liaison between the Inflight Training department and other organizational units.

Support the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and associated risk management processes.
Qualifications
Required
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of Flight Attendant experience.

Valid FAA Certification.

Must be able to secure, retain, and maintain currency as a PSA Airlines Flight Attendant.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Demonstrated knowledge of FAA requirements and company policies.
Preferred
-
Thorough knowledge of PSA Inflight Policies and Procedures and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) usage.

Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting.

Status as an active Check Flight Attendant.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams).
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role operates in a professional office environment. The position is primarily sedentary; however, the employee must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49CFR1542.209 and a pre-employment drug screen.
