Pilot in Command (PIC) - Council Bluffs, Iowa

Executive Jet Management, a subsidiary of NetJets and a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a highly qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) to join its established flight department. This position is based in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at CBF airport, and will operate a new 2024 Citation Longitude aircraft. The PIC will be part of a three-pilot team, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, conducting operations under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations, with an average of 400 flight hours annually. The successful candidate must reside within driving distance of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This individual will adhere to all company and regulatory requirements while ensuring an exceptional service experience for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures safe flight operations, including compliance with crewing and trip assignments.
  • Conducts thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments.
  • Leads briefings using Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to mitigate operational risks.
  • Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator.
  • Completes comprehensive pre-flight checks, verifying aircraft maintenance status and logging any discrepancies according to SOPs.
  • Monitors and manages all aircraft ground servicing requirements such as fueling, oil, and oxygen, in accordance with SOPs.
  • Conducts passenger briefings, providing exceptional customer service and accommodating special needs.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to ensure clear and timely communication during normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures.
  • Provides superior service to owners and passengers, proactively identifying and resolving service deviations.
  • Collaborates effectively with crew members and internal partners to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Maintains proficiency through mandatory training and regulatory compliance.
  • Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and reports safety or compliance concerns appropriately.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • First Class Medical Certificate.

Experience:

  • Four to six years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):

  • FAA Type rating in applicable fleet.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum flight time requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours
