Pilot in Command (PIC) – Citation Longitude
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly qualified Pilot in Command for its established flight department. This exceptional opportunity involves operating a new 2024 Citation Longitude based at Council Bluffs Iowa (CBF) airport. The position is part of a three-pilot operation, supported by a dedicated maintenance technician, operating under Part 91 and Part 135 regulations, with an average annual flight time of 400 hours. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of CBF.
Purpose of the Position:
The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This includes adherence to all company and regulatory requirements, while consistently delivering an exceptional customer service experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Complies with all company and regulatory requirements for crewing and trip assignments.
- Conducts comprehensive flight planning, including performance calculations, weight and balance determinations.
- Employs Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Strictly adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates effectively with company personnel. Serves as the Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator, as defined by company policy.
- Meticulously completes all pre-flight aircraft checks, verifying maintenance status and ensuring mission readiness. Documents all discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Oversees all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen), ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Provides comprehensive passenger briefings, adhering to company policy and regulations, and accommodating special needs (e.g., passengers with disabilities).
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to maintain clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel across all operational phases.
Delivering an Exceptional Customer Experience:
- Provides superior service to aircraft owners and passengers, proactively identifying and addressing opportunities for service enhancement. Effectively investigates and resolves service discrepancies.
- Collaborates seamlessly with crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure consistent high-quality service. Proactively manages and resolves conflicts in a professional and effective manner.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains currency with all regulatory and company-required training and experience requirements.
- Actively participates in the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety concerns or non-compliance issues through established channels.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4-6 years of professional flying experience.
- Prior corporate/business aviation experience preferred.
- FAA type rating for the Citation Longitude.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
