Fixed Wing Test Pilot Instructor

The National Test Pilot School (NTPS), the world's leading and only accredited total flight test training and education organization, seeks an outstanding Fixed Wing Test Pilot Instructor to join its esteemed cadre of flight test professionals. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of flight test course material at the highest level.

The Role:

The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team, teaching both academic and airborne instruction in all aspects of the Fixed Wing Performance & Flying Qualities and Systems curriculum. They will guide and mentor both Test Pilot and Flight Test Engineer students, fostering a deep understanding of complex flight test principles.

Essential Qualifications:

Graduate of a Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP) recognized Test Pilot School.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Fixed Wing Experimental Test Pilot.
FAA Medical 2nd Class certification.
Fluency in English.

Desired Qualifications:

Ten or more years of flight test experience.
Prior instructional experience at a Test Pilot School.
Master's Degree in Engineering (or a closely related field).
Test experience with Civil Certification, Radar, EO/IR & Comm/Nav systems.
FAA Commercial Pilot License; Airplane (SEL/MEL), CFI/MEI, and Instrument Airplane.
Type Rating/Authorized Experimental: S-265, AV-L39, MB-326, NH-T38.
EASA Flight Test Instructor rating.
NVG and/or Helmet Mounted Display experience.

Benefits:

NTPS offers a competitive salary ranging from $170,000 to $190,000 per year, a 401k retirement plan with employer matching, and a comprehensive benefits package. Occasional travel may be required for field trips, student projects, course presentations, and consulting.
