Pilot Instructor
Overview
NOVA Technologies continuously seeks highly qualified Pilot Instructors to join its team for current and upcoming government programs across various locations and airframes. Responsibilities
The Pilot Instructor will be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality flight instruction to aspiring pilots, encompassing ground school, simulator sessions, and actual flight hours, strictly adhering to established curriculum guidelines and safety protocols.
- Providing specialized training such as Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Training (VTRAT), Crew Resource Management (CRM), and Instrument Refresher Course (IRC) training.
- Instilling and reinforcing a robust culture of safety through effective communication of safety procedures, risk management strategies, and emergency response protocols.
- Collaborating with curriculum development teams to refine training materials, flight plans, and course content, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conducting regular assessments and evaluations of trainee progress, offering constructive feedback and guidance to foster development and growth.
- Maintaining current knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure all training activities comply with applicable standards.
- Assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of training aircraft, simulators, and associated equipment to ensure optimal condition for safe and effective training.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of trainee progress, training hours, and fulfilling other required administrative tasks in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
- Fostering open and effective communication with trainees, fellow instructors, and supervisory personnel to cultivate a cohesive and supportive training environment.
- Conducting ground training for other crew members, including diagnosis and remediation of student issues.
- Assisting in project and development work as assigned.
- Performing administrative duties such as scheduling, record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, quality assurance, safety, security, and maintaining training programs and equipment.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should possess:
- Prior experience delivering military pilot academics and simulator training, coupled with familiarity with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Recent experience as an Instructor Pilot or Evaluator Pilot.
- EXPERT Common Immersive Theater Environment (XCITE) experience.
- Completion of a formal USAF Instructor training course.
- Recent National Industrial Security Program Manual (NISPOM) related security management experience.
- Experience using the Computer-Aided Assessment System.
- Knowledge of and experience with the Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Trainer (VTRAT).
- Eligibility for a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex aviation concepts to diverse audiences.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within a team of aviation professionals.
- A deep commitment to safety and a demonstrated track record of adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Thorough proficiency in demonstrating, evaluating, diagnosing, and critiquing student performance; identifying learning difficulties; recognizing objectives not accomplished; and prescribing and conducting remedial instruction.
- Physical ability to enter the simulator, experience simulator motion, and take cognizance of attendee safety onboard the simulator.
