Compensation and Benefits

- Minimum Base Annual Salary: $126,000
- Sign-On Bonus: $2,000*
- Retention Bonus: $5,000*
- Hardship Stipend: Up to $60,000 available*

Position Summary (Job Objective)
The Pilot-in-Command (PIC) holds ultimate responsibility for all phases and aspects of assigned duties within the AirLink CCT program. This role demands the highest standards of flight safety and professionalism, representing Metro Aviation within the communities it serves. The PIC maintains clear, honest, and courteous communication with supervisors, the company, and clients, fostering exceptional interpersonal relationships vital for the company's sustained success in the aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
The Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Pilot (PIC) is expected to perform the following essential functions:
- Serve as the final authority and maintain direct responsibility for the operation of the assigned aircraft at all times.
- Engage in professional and courteous interactions with all stakeholders, including customers, co-workers, Metro Aviation management, and the general public.
- Adhere to a structured work and training schedule set by Metro Aviation, Inc., while also demonstrating flexibility to serve occasional extra duty shifts to cover for absences due to vacations, sick or military leave, or staffing needs.
- Attend all required Metro Aviation, Inc. or customer meetings.
- Ensure strict compliance with all directives and guidance outlined in the Metro Aviation, Inc. General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Policy & Procedures, Company Bulletins, Federal Aviation Regulations, and any other applicable regulations.
- Execute duties and responsibilities specific to Operational Control, as detailed in the Metro Aviation, Inc. General Operations Manual.
- Conduct proper pre-flight inspections, confirm aircraft airworthiness, and perform necessary servicing (fuel, oxygen, etc.).
- Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned aircraft, encompassing both exterior washing and interior upkeep. The PIC will ensure the medical cabin is properly cleaned by medical personnel.
Qualifications

Required Certificates
Applicants must hold the following current certificates:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- Current Competency, Proficiency Check, or Flight Review
- FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate (1st Class Medical required for Turbojet PIC)
- Valid Driver’s License
Minimum Required Experience
Candidates should meet the following minimum flight experience requirements:
- Total Time: 2,500 hours
- Total Pilot-in-Command Time: 1,000 hours
- Total Time in Type (PC12): 50 hours
- Total Cross-Country Time: 500 hours
- Total Night Flight Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Flight Time: 75 hours (including at least 50 hours in flight)
Preferred Experience
Highly desirable qualifications include experience in:
- Air Medical Operations
- Single Pilot IFR operations
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to meet various physical demands, including:
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- Capability to conduct activities requiring a moderate to rigorous amount of static pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds from floor to bench height.
- Aural acuity to hear and respond to routine aircraft noises.
- Maintain a "duty" weight (body weight + uniform/equipment, excluding helmet) as applicable per program requirements.
- Ability to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit when requested.
- Require both close and distant visual capability.
- Periodic hands-to-key ability (typing).
Work Environment
The work environment for this position includes:
- Temperature-controlled office/rest quarters.
- Exposure to an outdoor aircraft facility, potentially involving cold and hot temperatures.
- Exposure to running aircraft.
- Exposure to refueling systems.
Work Status, Schedule, & Travel
- This is a full-time position, encompassing 182.5 work days or 2,190 hours per year.
- Typical schedules include 7 days on shift followed by 7 days off, or 4 days on shift followed by 4 days off, both consisting of 12-hour shifts.
- Workover opportunities may be available depending on program needs.
- Travel is required for annual training.
