Metro Aviation, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Pilot (IFR/PIC) (PC12) to join our team for operations across the United States.

Job Summary

The Pilot-in-Command (PIC) is responsible for all phases and aspects of assigned duties, upholding the highest standards of flight safety. The PIC will represent the Company professionally in all interactions and maintain clear communication with supervisors, the Company, and clients. Exceptional interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients are essential for the Company's continued success.

Essential Functions

  • Directly responsible for and the final authority regarding the operation of the assigned aircraft at all times.
  • Perform duties professionally and courteously, interacting with customers, co-workers, management, and the public.
  • Maintain work and training schedules as directed by Metro Aviation, Inc., and be available for additional shifts due to absences or staffing needs.
  • Attend required Metro Aviation, Inc. or customer meetings.
  • Comply with all directives and guidance from the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Policy & Procedures, Company Bulletins, Federal Aviation Regulations, and other applicable regulations.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities specific to Operational Control as outlined in the General Operations Manual.
  • Conduct proper pre-flight inspections, ensure aircraft airworthiness, and perform necessary servicing to confirm airworthiness.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned aircraft, including the exterior and interior. Ensure the medical cabin is maintained by medical personnel.

Required Certificates

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Current Competency, Proficiency Check, or Flight Review
  • FAA 2nd Class Medical (1st Class for Turbojet PIC)
  • Valid Driver’s License

Minimum Required Experience

  • Total Time: 2,500 hours
  • Total Pilot-in-Command Time: 1,000 hours
  • Total Time in Type: 50 hours
  • Total Cross Country Time: 500 hours
  • Total Night Flight Time: 100 hours
  • Total Instrument Flight Time: 75 hours (50 in flight)

Preferred Experience

  • Air Medical Operations
  • Single Pilot IFR operations
  • Night Vision Goggle operations

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Ability to perform activities requiring moderate to rigorous static pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting.
  • Capable of lifting 40 pounds from floor to bench height.
  • Ability to hear and respond to routine aircraft noises.
  • Maintain a "duty" weight if applicable per program (body weight + uniform/equipment helmet not included).
  • Ability to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit when requested.
  • Require close and distant visual capability.
  • Periodic hand-to-key ability (typing).

Work Environment

  • Temperature-controlled office/rest quarters.
  • Exposure to outdoor aircraft facilities with potential cold and hot temperatures.
  • Exposure to running aircraft and refueling systems.

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

  • Full-time position.
  • 182.5 work days/2,190 hours per year, including:
  • 7 days on shift/7 days off shift or 4 days on shift/4 days off shift.
  • 12-hour shifts.
  • Workover opportunities based on program needs.
  • Travel to required annual training.
