Take Command of Your Career: Corporate Aviation Captain Opportunity
Merck & Co., Inc. seeks an experienced and dedicated Corporate Aviation Captain to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to operate at the highest levels of corporate aviation, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of personnel in a demanding and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
As Captain, you will serve as Pilot-in-Command on a G550 and G650 aircraft, responsible for all aspects of domestic and international flight operations. Your duties will include:
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of both crew and passengers throughout every flight.
- Leading and mentoring assigned flight crew, fostering a culture of collaboration and professionalism.
- Maintaining strict adherence to all FAA, state, and company regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Making critical decisions regarding flight plans, potential delays or cancellations, and deviations due to changing weather or operational requirements.
- Collaborating effectively with maintenance and operations personnel to ensure seamless flight operations.
- Utilizing Crew Resource Management principles to optimize safety and efficiency.
- Maintaining all required FAA certifications and completing necessary training as outlined in the Company Flight Operations Manual.
- Assuming Second-in-Command duties when flying with another Company Captain.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership qualities, and a commitment to safety. Specific requirements include:
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree with equivalent experience.
- Minimum of ten years of professional pilot experience in turbine-powered aircraft.
- Two years of experience in an on-demand flight environment.
- FAA ATP certificate with the ability to obtain GV or GVI type rating.
- Proven history of successfully completing FAA and Company competency checks.
- Current FAA First Class medical certificate.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Strong work ethic, unwavering integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
- Comprehensive knowledge of domestic, international, and oceanic flight rules.
Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- 2,500 hours total flight time
- 2,000 hours total flight time in airplanes
- 1,500 hours total flight time in multi-engine airplanes
- 500 hours total flight time in transport category jets
- 250 hours total instrument time
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor or Military Flight Instructor/Evaluator
- NBAA Certified Aviation Manager
Additional Details:
This position requires a flexible schedule, including overnight and weekend work, to meet the demands of a global corporate aviation operation.
This is a regular, full-time position based in New Jersey, with an expected relocation to Rahway, NJ by 2023. The role requires up to 75% travel and a valid driver's license.
